BlackBerry-Client für Lotus Connections 2.3 und Quickr 1.0

IBM hat heute die Verfügbarkeit neuer Versionen der BlackBerry-Clients für Ihre Collaboration-Produkte angekündigt:

• BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections 2.3
• BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr 1.0

"Specific enhancements built into the BlackBerry clients for IBM Lotus software for Connections and Quickr

With BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections 2.3, there is now support for Blogs, Activities, Bookmarks, and Communities, and an enhanced Profile information capability including pictures. The richer integration with BlackBerry core applications makes the application appear as an integral part of the BlackBerry device, and is easier to use.

This is the first BlackBerry client for IBM Lotus Quickr in the market and with it the enterprise users can perform most of the key activities from their BlackBerry devices that they would wish to do when working with documents.

• Navigate and view library contents
  • Designate libraries as "Favorites" for fast access
  • Sort and filter folder contents to highlight material the user wants to find easily
  • View file and folder details - when and by whom it was created and modified
  • Preview documents via the BlackBerry Attachment Service
  • Download and check out documents for editing
  • Check in documents, in addition to or to replace older versions
  • Organize documents in new folders created from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • E-mail document authors with questions
  • Send a link to a document or folder rather than sending the entire document"
  
  Interessant, dass diese Ankündigung in der Vorwoche zur Lotusphere kommt (und nicht zur Lotusphere). Ich deute das mal so, dass das nur kleine Fische sind im Vergleich zu dem, was uns nächste Woche in Orlando erwartet...

Kaspersky blockiert Lotus Quickr-Elemente

Auf einem Testserver mit IBM Lotus Quickr 8.2 für Domino (auf einem Domino 8.5.1-Server) trat seit drei Tagen das Phänomen auf, dass bestimmte Funktionen der Quickr-Seiten verschwunden waren. Konkret bezieht sich das unter anderem auf das Content-Feld des mitgelieferten Wikis. Das entsprechende Feld, der Richtext-Editor, tauchte einfach nicht auf - weder im Mozilla Firefox, noch im Internet Explorer. Im Opera erschien das Java-Applet. Als Ursache stellte sich die Kaspersky Security-Suite auf den Workstations der Mitarbeiter heraus. Ohne eine Meldung blockierte sie die benötigten JavaScript-Dateien und verhindert so die Darstellung des Feldes.

Lotus-Tag Hamburg 2009: Wir sind dabei

Am 5. November findet im IBM Forum Hamburg zum dritten Mal der Lotus-Tag statt.

Nach einer kurzen Begrüßung durch Frank Siemon, Direktor Partnership Solution Center Region Nord hält Dieter Brandes (www.konsequent-einfach.com) die Key-Note: "Einfachheit ist der Weg zum Wesentlichen". Wie wahr!

Danach gibt es dann abwechselnd Vorträge von der IBM zu aktuellen (und angekündigten) Produkten: Lotus Notes/Domino 8.x (und natürlich Version 8.5.1), Lotus Quickr 8.2 und Lotus Sametime 8.5, und von IBM Business Partnern zu verschiedenen Themen - interessanter Weise meist im Umfeld Ihrer Produkte und Dienstleistungen...
