Quick Tip: Lotus Symphony portable

Portable applications, which you can take with you on e. g. an USB stick, are "in".
You can make Lotus Symphony portable using a small trick:
1. Install Lotus Symphony as you would normally do.
2. Copy the directory, you have Symphony installed in.
3. Below this directory, edit the file framework\rcp\rcplauncher.properties and change this row
rcp.data=${env.USERPROFILE}/IBM/Lotus/Symphony/
into
rcp.data=workplace
You are done.

auch war auch sofort begeistert, als ich hier den Trick zum Portable-Machen entdeckt habe, allerdings relativiert sich das Ganze jetzt für mich etwas, wenn man in der Quell-URL den Punkt 8 liest:
" (Optional) If you only wish to use Symphony from the USB drive and not to have it on your hard drive, you can uninstall Symphony using Add/Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel. This will remove the registry entries and MSI DB entries from the Windows system. As a result, you will not be able to double-click a document icon nor use "Open With..." option to open a document in Symphony. One workaround way to open document is to drag-and-drop a file icon into the main window of the running Symphony program. "
Ergebnis nach Anwendung des Tricks ist, dass wenn ich jetzt Dokumente mit der symphonie.exe verknüpfe, dass ein "workplace"-Ordner in jedem Verzeichnis angelegt wird, in dem das jeweilige Dokument liegt und der Ordner ist nicht gerade klein mit jeweils ca. 70MB.
